I’m Iris Nevins Desire, the founder of Essenti.
I spent most of my career building software. I was an engineer, then engineering manager, at companies like Workday and Mailchimp.
Then I left that behind and bought a recruiting agency. What I found was that recruiting wasn’t being treated as a system. Every search started from zero. Companies didn’t own their pipeline. And placement fees were extremely high.
So I started building.
I rebuilt the agency around AI-powered sourcing and automated infrastructure that brings the cost of recruiting down and lets us return those savings to our customers. We replaced placement fees with flat monthly retainers. And now we’re expanding beyond agriculture into the industries that are similarly crucial to our society.
